Alter Eco Americas was launched in San Francisco in 2006 by Co-founder & CEO, Mathieu Senard and Co-founder & COO, Edouard Rollet with the vision to provide consumers with quality products while encouraging the development of fair trade, independent food producers and distributors through its network of over 200 co-operatives around the world.  Since its founding, Alter Eco has expanded to offer SKUs in the quinoa, sugar, rice and chocolate categories.

Alter Eco is deeply committed to the sustainable social and environmental impact of its products.  All Alter Eco products are carbon neutral, USDA organic and Fair Trade Certified.  The company has a unique partnership with MyPurePlanet.org (founded by Tristan Lecomte, Founder/President of parent company Alter Eco France) that enables Alter Eco to offset carbon emitted from shipping products around the world.

Alter Eco products have distribution through in Canada through Horizon Distributors and in the U.S. through United Natural Foods and are available in 1,300 retail accounts, including Whole Foods and Wegmans, as well as independent natural foods stores with concentration on West Coast.
