On September 9-13, Renewal2 joined 140 social and environmental entrepreneurs for the 14th annual Social Venture Institute at Hollyhock Centre on Cortes Island, BC.
 
The five day conference joins business leaders and social entrepreneurs together for an intensive, interactive inquiry into how to face the day-to-day challenges of running a socially conscious enterprise. This year's event included "True Confessions" presentations by Aaron Lamstein of Wordwise, Arran and Ratana Stephens of Nature's Path Organics and Tamara Vrooman of Vancity, business workshops, case study presentations, social events, and a host of Hollyhock activities. A favorite at SVI is the "Marketplace of Ideas" where participants have 2 minutes (timed!) to present their latest project or new big idea to the conference.
